The best form of charity

Ibn Abbas RA was asked, "What form of the charity is best?" He said, "Giving water to drink."

Ibn al-Qayyim RA said, "If Allah Almighty had forgiven one who gave water to a dog suffering from extreme thirst, then how about one who relieves the thirst, satisfies the hunger, and clothes the naked among the Muslims?"

Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah reported, "I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?' The Prophet SAW said, 'Yes.' I said,'Which charity is best?' The Prophet SAW said,'A drink of water."'
